Coca-Cola sales volume declines in Nigeria

Coca-Cola HBC the parent company of The Coca-Cola Company in Nigeria said its sales volume in Nigeria has continued to nose-dive in a highly competitive environment.
The global Coca-Cola company made this disclosure in its 2018 full year result released penultimate week, but stated that its Group volume increased by 4.2 percent in emerging markets, the volume also increased by 4.3percent with growth in all countries except Nigeria.

Toxic Alcohol kills 130 Indian Tea Workers

At least 130 people have died and more than 200 are being treated in hospital after drinking toxic bootleg alcohol in north-eastern India, officials said.
Some 35 people were reported dead in the state of Assam on Sunday, days after about 100 people died in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Ten people have been arrested over the bootleg drink, a police official said.

Jumia Food denies MD’s arrest

In a press statement yesterday on behalf of the management of Jade Internet Services, owners of Jumia Food, Oni said that a report that Mr Futi was arrested by men of the Nigerian Police Force, Zone II, for fraud allegation and conversion of company’s funds for personal use was a mere fabrication.
The current Country Manager of Jumia Food Nigeria, Mr, Guy Futi, neither misappropriated the company’s funds nor converted them for personal use. If this had happened, Jumia would have taken legal action against him, and probably involved the press.

CBN, Dangote, Kano govt partner to localise tomato production

This was disclosed in Kano, yesterday, when the team of Minister of Agriculture, Mr Audu Ogbeh and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele visited Dangote tomato seedlings production farm at Kadawa in Kano State
According to Ogbeh, part of the visit is to inspect some facilities in the state before the implementation of a planned programme of enhancing the production of tomatoes in the country.
