CELESTIAL CHURCH DONATES N25 MILLION TO LAGOS AND OGUN TO FIGHT COVID-19

The Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide on Monday said it donated N25m to the Lagos and Ogun states governments to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chairman of the church’s Press, Publicity and Publications Committee, Kayode Ajala, said the sum also covered support for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

Ajala, in a statement, said the spokesperson for the church’s delegation, Bola Akinterinwa, while presenting the donation at the Ogun State Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, lauded efforts of the government at combating the scourge through the provision of medical facilities and palliatives.

He was said to have assured the government of the continued support of its Pastor and Head, His Eminence Revd. Emmanuel Oshoffa, and the entire congregation of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide.

Akinterinwa also reportedly informed the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, of the plan of the church to build a university at the Celestial City, Imeko, Ogun State.

The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Mrs Noimot Oyedele, who received the delegation on behalf of the governor, expressed appreciation for the donation and assured that the money would be used to tackle the virus.

“She further assured that she would convey the prayers of the church concerning the proposed Celestial International University, Imeko, Ogun State, and the re-construction of the Abeokuta-Imeko Road to the Governor of Ogun State,” the statement added.
