Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, yesterday paid a condolence visit to Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello over the demise of his mother, Hajia Hauwa Bello, who died on Sunday after a brief illness at the age of 101.
According to statement by the chief press secretary to Governor Bello, Onogwu Mohammed, Senator Lawan was at Okene, the governor’s country home where he commiserated with the family.
The Senate president said the family’s matriarch lived a very fufiled life which was reflected in the quality of children she produced.
Lawan urged the family to sustain her legacies of peace and unity, saying no family can prosper in an atmosphere of rancour and disunity
Governor Bello on behalf of the family, thanked the Senate president for finding time out of his tight schedule to identify with them at their moment of grief.
