BRITISH AIRWAYS APOLOGISES OVER ABANDONMENT OF NIGERIAN PASSENGERS

British Airways has confirmed that some of its abandoned Nigerian passengers in Accra, Ghana, made private travel plans from the country to Nigeria.

The airline, however, apologised for the abandonment of the passengers in the former Gold Coast country, saying it was due to inadequate accommodation space in Accra.

A statement by Mr. Kola Olayinka, General Manager, West Africa, British Airways, stated that the airline later chartered a Boeing 767 from Euro Atlantic to convey passengers from Accra to Lagos, regretting that some of the passengers had opted to make personal arrangements for their return.
