Microfinance Bank Boss Bags 4 Years Over $166m Fraud

Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court, in Lagos, yesterday, sentenced the former managing director of the defunct Integrated Microfinance Bank Limited, Simon Ademola Akinteye, to four years’ imprisonment over a $166.9 million fraud.   The court sent the former bank MD behind bars after convicting him of a nine-count charge of compliance, fraud and reckless granting of loans without collateral, brought against him by the Federal Ministry of Justice.

APC strong supporter shot dead in Nsukka

An uneasy calm now pervades Eha Alumona, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State as a strong supporter of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Chukwuemeka Ishienyi, was shot dead on Wednesday. Two Students, 6 Others Die In Nnewi Auto Crash

At least six persons, including two students of Nneoma Secondary School, Otolo Nnewi, have been reported dead and several others injured in multiple auto accidents that occurred in the early hours of Thursday, February 21, along Akwudo Junction in Nnewi, Anambra State. It was reported that a soakaway truck collided with a truck carrying gallons of palm oil.
