ASUU Threatens to Sanction uncooperative Vice-Chancellors

ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said this yesterday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Ogunyemi was reacting to the allegation that some vice-chancellors have been intimidating lecturers in their institution and have ordered them back to the classroom, while some have reportedly commenced examinations.
According to him, the union may be preparing for a confrontation with some of the vice-chancellors that have defaulted and failed to cooperate.

Bill Gates Foundation boosts Nigeria’s healthcare system with $75m

The Federal Government will receive the sum of $75m in the next five years from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for routine childhood immunisation.
This is just as the government reiterated its commitment to childhood immunisation through innovative financing agreement with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
It is indicated that the fund might be directly invested in Nigeria’s Basic Health Care Provision Fund.
