World’s oldest man Nonaka dies in Japan

“World’s oldest man” Masazo Nonaka, who was born just two years after the Wright brothers launched humanity’s first powered flight, died on Sunday aged 113, Japanese media said. Nonaka was born in July 1905, according to Guinness World Records — just months before Albert Einstein published his special theory of relativity. Guinness officially recognised Nonaka as the oldest living man after the death of Spaniard Francisco Nunez Olivera last year.

NUC Has Not Ranked Nigerian Universities In 14 Years – Executive Secretary

The National Universities Commission (NUC), has dismissed claims of new ranking of universities in the country, saying it had not ranked the nation’s universities in the last 14 years. Prof. Abubakar Rashid, its Executive Secretary, in an address at the 3rdCombined Convocation of the Bingham University, Karu in Nasarawaa State, urged members of the public to disregard recent rankings said to have been done by the NUC. The purported ranking published in the conventional and social media is false, fake and not from the NUC. It is meant to deceive members of the public and should be disregarded.

R. Kelly and Sony Music Reportedly Part Ways Following Controversy

The reported move comes after a controversy-filled few weeks for the artist, following the release of Lifetime's docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, which shared the stories of women who allege to have suffered abuse at the hands of Kelly. He has denied all claims of misconduct.  Kelly was signed to Jive Records at the start of his career in the '90s. The company later became part of Sony BMG, looping Kelly under the Sony umbrella. He had been under contract at RCA, a subsidiary of Sony, since 2012, but is no longer listed on the RCA website.

Why women are worst hit by depression – expert

A psychiatrist with the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) Dr. Friday Philip, has said that women were more prone to depression because they do not share their problems with others. “Women tend to keep more to themselves when they have issues bothering them. They hardly share their worries like men do,” Philip said on Friday in Jos. Philip advised people with symptoms of depression to promptly seek medical help.
