Meghan Markle ‘told to dress more like a royal and less like a Hollywood star’

Meghan Markle has been told she needs to start dressing more like a royal and less like a Hollywood star, according to insiders.

The 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex – branded ‘Hurricane Meghan’ by royal aides because of her work ethic – has reportedly raised eyebrows with her choice of outfits since her wedding.

Although she is said to have a good relationship with the Queen, her dress sense hasn’t always been met with approval.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the monarch was surprised when Meghan opted to wear the elegant white Givenchy dress for her May wedding, given she had been married before.

And her decision not to wear a hat on a royal visit alongside the Queen in Cheshire in June raised eyebrows – because protocol dictates she should have followed suit when told the monarch would don one.

This is said to have caused a level of tension between the two on the trip, as the Queen is described as a stickler for the rules.

A fashion team source said: “Meghan is being told she needs to start dressing less like a Hollywood star and more like a Royal.”

In her first royal engagement after getting married on May 17, many commented on how she appeared to have altered her style to be more ‘fitting’ with the royals .

But just a few months later she was back to her more usual style – showing bare legs in shorter styles, not entirely keeping with royal protol.

She is also a fan of non-British designers, which suggests she is breaking the mould.

According to a royal source Meghan is up at 5am rain or shine and her formidable work ethic is like something that palace staff have never experienced before.
